I Like Big Books and I Cannot Lie – Assouline

Assouline

Assouline

While on a recent meander at the bookstore, I came across a stack of fashion books published by Assouline. I was instantly brought back to the Assouline book boutique I stumbled into while rolling with Shell-Belle, (Ladurée macarons in hand), on a recent visit to Paris. The store was such a gem! Assouline was stocked with countless books on topics I adore most: travel, art, design, photography and fashion. Needless to say, I was in love.

Below are my fave Assouline-published books. If ever I choose to start a collection, these would def be my staple pieces.

Enjoy!

What Do You Make of This?

I am currently in Rome with my lovely family, taking in all there is to do and see. Yesterday, while taking a detour along the walk home to our B&B, I stepped into a quaint lil’ chocolate store to check out all things cocoa. Naturally, I was at once drawn to the variety of chocolate packaging. These Feletti chocolate bars, however, take the cake.

I’m kind of appalled. What do you make of this?

In the Mood

I’ve been quiet for a minute, I know.
But I’ve always been here. And I’m kinda-sorta back.

Here’s where my mood’s at (re: art/fashion) today. Peep my mood-board/colour-story mish-mash.

FYI: I’m also hungry for some new inspiration. (Ideas? Anyone?)

Move. Learn. Eat.

There are two things that would make me very unhappy, many, many years from now, when looking back at my life:
1) To not have expressed myself creatively, wholeheartedly and freely
2) To not have travelled

I can’t stay in one spot. I just can’t. I will move, learn and eat my way through life — even as a gypsy, mind you! (Don’t you know who my sister is?) These videos make me want to cross the pond sooner than I had planned.

*Bigups Shell-Bellez for being my biggest inspiration! xo
