In the Mood

I’ve been quiet for a minute, I know.
But I’ve always been here. And I’m kinda-sorta back.

Here’s where my mood’s at (re: art/fashion) today. Peep my mood-board/colour-story mish-mash.

FYI: I’m also hungry for some new inspiration. (Ideas? Anyone?)

Chicken Scratch

I’m the type to notice one’s handwriting. I’ll notice if it’s slanted, sharp, elegant, large, messy or even “dignified.” I cringe at full-grown women whose writing look like bubbly teenage hearts. I cringe at full-grown men who write with crusty Vs and backwards Gs. I cringed at an aspiring “rapper” once, who I thought was pretty cool until I saw his book of rhymes. I expected an artist’s charming scribbles, but what I saw was a third grader’s cursive practice. I’ve noticed my penmanship too…and I’m worried that it’s suffering.

Is technology killing the pen? Is technology killing my pen? I text and tweet and type so much that my fingers are wobbly every time I try to write. I broke up with my Moleskine when I jumped onto the iPhone bandwagon, and I only think in terms of Apple + V or Apple + Z. It’s a very far cry from high school when my BFF (big ups Raeann!) and I were so particular with our writing that we would cross our Ts with a ruler using colourful milky pens.

Leave it to me to ponder: why do some people have chicken scratch as a poor excuse for penmanship? The suspects: carelessness, habit, technology and/or chicken scratch is just their personal style.

Hmmmmf….

Ain’t no biggie. Just a thought.
