Victoria Spruce is Illy

Victoria Spruce is my new favourite footwear designer. Hands down.

Victoria studied footwear at Cordwainers College and did her Masters at Royal College of Art. This is why I NEED to get my arse to Londontown. The work that comes out of that city is insane.

Excuse me while I pick up my jaw off the floor.

The Update

It’s been a month since I’ve relocated west and I’m still not quite sure if Vancouver and I get along. Granted, British Columbia is indeed beautiful — there’s an abundance of inspiration to be had in the scenery alone. But I’m a city girl, goshdarnit! And I prefer busy streets, bustle and action.

Nevertheless, it was a no-brainer for me to move. I was offered an opportunity at a Canadian-based footwear company and I knew from the start that I couldn’t pass up a chance to learn the ropes. Knowledge is power. And knowledge will def be the catalyst that will help me achieve my dream. So I swiftly up and left. Typical me.

I am not sure how long I will be here for, since I still have a plethora of tricks up my sleeve. My plan of attack: I will travel, learn and gain experience while I simultaneously work to establish myself as the successful, creative, independent designer I will be. Up next: London, Milan, Paris or Tokyo? I haven’t decided yet, but I will let you know when I do……

Life. Is. Grand.
