Practice Makes Perfect

Yes, I know my projects are always in progress, but after much practice on a certain item I’m creating, I’ve finally managed to sew a straight (trapunto) line to the calibre I expect. This is for you…and don’t you only want the best quality? That’s how I roll — I only give you the best.

Niels Peeraer

Oftentimes, my jaw does not drop whilst surfing the net for my next ah-ha moment of inspiration. Tonight, however…it did.

I was floored by the work of Antwerp-born Niels Peeraer. Peeraer, a graduate of the Royal Fashion Academy of Antwerp, uses vegetable tanned bridle leather to craft his detailed pieces. The young designer is not only a winner of the Innovation Award from Anne Chapelle, he was also a finalist for ITS#9 (International Talent Support), and has already collaborated with the Belgian leather goods company, Delvaux.

I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Peeraer’s SS13 collection!

I’ll be in Paris soon…and Peeraer is based there. Should I try and hit up his studio?!

Fredrick Prince

I am so blessed to know such creative, talented people! Just recently, I had the pleasure of meeting one of my long-time friends, Melissa De Luca. She was visiting the West coast and we decided to catch up and chat. Melissa is the owner and designer of the Toronto-based jewellery line, Fredrick Prince. Get familiar with Fredrick Prince, folks! With such unique, whimsical pieces, (that have been hand-crafted by Melissa herself), Fredrick Prince jewellery is quick to be coveted, as the brand only continues to grow and expand. Check out Fredrick Prince online or in-store. Thanks for the inspiration, Mel! xo

Below, clockwise from top left, are few of my faves: Vintage Spoon Necklace, Red Oceana Necklace, Wild Wild West Necklace, Alana Necklace, Geometric 70′s Necklace.

Nutsa Modebadze

Her work reminds me of the organic forms on a Miró painting.
I am inspired by this kind of uniqueness.
